Frank Scavo, President
Frank Scavo is the president of Computer Economics. With his many years as a management consultant, he also serves as a research analyst covering IT strategy and technology adoption trends, with special emphasis on enterprise software. Prior to the acquisition of Computer Economics he was, and remains, president and owner of Strativa, our sister management consulting firm. Frank also leads our IT benchmarking consulting practice and is available for consulting engagements in IT strategy and major systems acquisition. Dave Wagner, Senior Research Director
Dave Wagner directs all of our research and analyst activities. He also leads our research coverage of IT spending and staffing, outsourcing, and IT salaries, while reporting on current news and events in the tech industry. Prior to joining Computer Economics, he was an executive editor for United Business Media’s InformationWeek and previously an assistant editor with the MIT Sloan Management Review.
Tom Dunlap, Research Director
Tom Dunlap is responsible for analyst coverage of our IT staffing, outsourcing, and technology trends lines of research, while reporting on current news and events in the tech industry. Prior to joining Computer Economics, he held editorial positions with technology news outlets JupiterMedia and CNET as well as the market research firm Apps Run The World.
Joanna Scavo, Senior Research Analyst
Joanna Scavo heads up our annual IT spending and staffing survey program as well as other targeted survey projects. She works with our research team to refresh our analysis reports throughout the year based on the new survey data. Finally, she oversees our social media programs. Prior to Computer Economics, she managed the localization services division for a broadcast media services firm.
Nick Hann, Senior Research Analyst
Nick Hann provides quantitative analysis for our IT spending and staffing benchmark services as well as special consulting services to Computer Economics clients, including ROI/TCO studies, business case development, and enterprise software evaluations. Prior to joining Computer Economics and our sister management consulting firm, Strativa, Nick held a series of consulting and IT management positions at Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Northrop Corp.
Wayne Meriwether, Senior Research Analyst
Wayne Meriwether covers data center infrastructure, IT service management, outsourcing trends, and business continuity best practices for Computer Economics. His background includes VP of Infrastructure positions at several large companies in the high tech and entertainment industry. He is especially skilled at large scale data center migration projects and managing outsourcing programs for major elements of IT infrastructure and services.
Dee Long, Senior Research Analyst
Dee Long provides analysis of enterprise software trends as well as consulting for clients of Computer Economics and our sister firm, Strativa, in the areas of IT strategy, software vendor evaluation, and organizational change management. Prior to joining Computer Economics and Strativa, she held a series of positions as a business technology consultant and developer of curriculums for leadership training.
Barbara Newton, Senior Editor
Barbara Newton provides editorial review and graphics support for Computer Economics publications. In addition, she assists in the firm's marketing efforts and press relations. She brings to Computer Economics extensive experience in marketing communications, graphics design, and IT consulting.
Peter Daley, Accredited Senior Appraiser
Peter Daley an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers. Mr. Daley has extensive appraisal experience with valuing equipment from PCs to mainframes to high-end telecom equipment. He is a leading authority in the determination of fair market values and residual value forecasts for computer hardware. He also serves as an expert witness in tax court, bankruptcy court, district court, and superior court as an expert witness in cases involving valuation of computer equipment. He has extensive experience in the computer industry, having worked for over 30 years in the leasing industry with IBM and Itel.
Andy Ratta, Sales Director
With a long tenure at Computer Economics, Andy has served in a variety of capacitities from heading up our annual survey programs to developing fair market values and residual value forecasts for IT equipment to managing subscription marketing programs. Currently, he is a sales director, responding to inquiries from prospective subscribers and managing client relationships.
Bob Turek, Sales Director
Bob brings over 20 years of sales management experience to Computer Economics, with leading technology providers from ASK Computer, i2, and QAD to next generation cloud service providers. As a Sales Director, he responds to inquiries from prospective clients and identifies new research and advisory services to better serve existing clients. He also provides sales support for our sister IT consulting firm, Strativa.
Chuck Farner, Director, Technology Advisor
Chuck Farner advises our research staff on issues and trends in IT infrastructure and IT security. He is also responsible for technical management of our research database and IT infrastructure. His many years of experience covers all aspects of IT management, including Director of Information Technology of a Fortune 500 company.
